Registration is open for the third UNITE4TB webinar of 2023, taking place on Thursday 28 September from 13:00-14:00 (CEST).

UNITE4TB is pleased to be participating in the upcoming European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress - an annual event that brings together respiratory experts from across the globe to showcase the latest developments in respiratory medicine and science.

On Thursday 8 June, the second UNITE4TB webinar of 2023 took place, addressing the topic of Biomarkers in TB Clinical Trials. The guest speaker for the session was Prof. Stephen Gillespie from the University of St. Andrews, whose research focuses on modernizing Tuberculosis (TB) diagnostics and therapeutics.

The 2023 UNITE4TB Annual Consortium Meeting and Symposium took place at the end of April in Nijmegen in the Netherlands.

A Multi-stakeholder Hearing on Tuberculosis (TB) took place on Monday, 8 May, in New York City. Convened by the President of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the Hearing was in preparation for the UN High-Level Meeting on TB in September. 

Collaboration is the most effective solution for innovation. This is certainly true in the case of large public-private partnerships like UNITE4TB. To leverage the strength of all parties involved, a spirit of collaboration needs to be nurtured. This is exactly what the three days of intense discussions at the 2023 UNITE4TB Annual Meeting and Symposium sought to achieve.

On 24-25 April, the second UNITE4TB Annual Consortium Meeting will take place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, hosted by project partner, Radboudumc. The two-day Consortium meeting will be followed by a full-day Symposium on 26 April, to which several high-level guest speakers have been invited.

Each year on 24 March, World TB Day is observed to raise awareness and understanding of tuberculosis (TB) – one of the world’s top infectious killers, which took the lives of 1.6 million people in 20211.

In commemoration of this year’s World TB Day, we are delighted to be partnering with ERA4TB to organize a webinar on the topic of community involvement and engagement in early-stage tuberculosis (TB) research.

To connect with early career scientists and develop strong outreach activities, UNITE4TB has established a Young Investigators Group (YIG). We currently have a call open for new members.

As we near the end of 2022, we take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights, including our successful webinar series, recent community engagement activities, and other project milestones.  

To ensure that those living with tuberculosis (TB) are treated with respect, it's important to recognize that some of the language used in the TB field can be inaccurate or have a negative impact on individuals with the condition.
