2023 UNITE4TB Annual Consortium Meeting and Symposium
On 24-25 April, the second UNITE4TB Annual Consortium Meeting will take place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, hosted by project partner, Radboudumc. The two-day Consortium meeting will be followed by a full-day Symposium on 26 April, to which several high-level guest speakers have been invited.
Consortium Meeting
The Annual Consortium Meeting will be an opportunity for the UNITE4TB partners to share important updates and upcoming activities, providing all members with valuable information on the overall status of the project. In addition to the 12 Work Package presentations, there will be talks given by our Scientific Advisory Board, Ethics Advisory Board, and Young Investigators Group. There will also be dedicated plenary sessions on topics such as the engagement of policymakers and funders, and the status of the UNITE4TB phase 2b/c clinical trials.
Day two of the Annual Meeting will include four break-out sessions, allowing smaller groups to gather together to discuss (1) the UNITE4TB regimen development, (2) community involvement within the project, (3) the Phase 2A clinical trial design, and (4) the importance of getting the UNITE4TB message out to key stakeholders and the general public.
UNITE4TB Symposium
The Symposium on 26 April, a side event of the Annual Meeting, will feature several highly respected external speakers including Matteo Zignol of the World Health Organization, Charles Wells of the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute, Cherise Scott of UNITAID, and Andy Vernon of the National Institutes of Health, to name just a few. The afternoon panel discussion will cover topics such as access and pricing of new TB drugs and the importance of collaboration in TB Research and Development. The Symposium program also includes three thematic workshops on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Adherence Technology, and Public and Community Engagement.
