UNITE4TB webinar: Management of adverse events in TB care

Adverse events are common in tuberculosis (TB) management, and can have a significant impact on people taking TB medications, their adherence to treatment as well as treatment outcome.

The speaker for this webinar is Dr Simon Tiberi (GSK) who will aim to educate the audience on:

• Understanding the importance of counseling people with TB on adverse events before starting treatment
• Evaluating factors that might increase the risk of adverse events and how to monitor them
• Learning how to assess and manage adverse events, if and when to restart TB drugs and how
• Understanding the importance of active TB drug safety monitoring

As always, the webinar will be divided into two parts of approximately 30 minutes each. The first half will be dedicated to the speaker presentation and the second half to an open discussion, moderated by UNITE4TB members Raquel Duarte (ISPUP, Portugal) and Christoph Lange (Borstel, Germany), providing ample opportunity for questions and answers.
